Meet Our Eye Doctors

Dr. Nish Patel Dr. Veera Patel are a husband-and-wife team of optometrists and owners of Peepers Eyecare Center in Bowie and Gambrills, MD, and NV'y Optical on Main in Annapolis, MD. In high school, Dr. Nish Patel began his first days working here as a tech and performing filing duties. The eyecare center was then owned by Dr. Erick Gray, who was Dr. Nish Patel’s mentor growing up. Dr. Nish Patel went on to receive his undergraduate training at Northwestern University in Chicago, Il. Soon after, he earned his doctorate degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA.

In Boston in 2010, he met the woman who would become his wife. Dr. Veera Patel is a hardworking California girl with an eye for fashionable eyewear! She graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in human biology and a minor in history. After graduation, she headed to Boston for optometry school and met Dr. Nish Patel in the very first few days! Throughout their early years in Boston, they were inseparable!

After they each graduated from New England College of Optometry, they were married in Santa Barbara, CA. They soon began working in Maryland. When Dr. Gray retired, they took full ownership of the Gambrills and Bowie locations in 2018.

As their passion for eye care and vision health in the community grew, so did their reputation. They opened NV’y Optical on Main (formerly known as Eyes on Main) in Annapolis, MD in 2020. The team here in Annapolis now has over 30 years of experience in the eyecare field and is passionate about their products and remaining unique to the Annapolis community.
